China Tops U.S. as Best Country for Renewable Energy Investment—Ernst & Young FacebookTwitterLinkedInEmailPrint分享Reuters:LONDON—The United States moved up to second place in a ranking of the most attractive countries for renewables investment, after China, a report by U.K. accountancy firm Ernst & Young showed on Tuesday. In an annual ranking of the top 40 renewable energy markets worldwide, China was the top country for the third year running, followed by the United States, which had occupied third place last year due to a shift in U.S. energy policy under President Donald Trump.Even though the United States imposed tariffs on imports of solar photovoltaic and modules this year, the effects have been mostly absorbed by the market and wind projects are not subject to subsidy cuts under a recently passed U.S. tax reform bill.“Solar import tariffs imposed by the U.S. government in January are likely to have only a limited impact on solar energy development in the country but are likely to tip the scales toward wind projects at the utility scale,” the report said.Germany was the third most attractive country in the ranking, while India slipped from second to fourth position due to investor concerns about the threat of solar import tariffs, the report said.More: U.S. Moves Up To Second Most Attractive Renewables Market After China: Report
TAKING A BREAK?—Steelers laying on the ground everywhere illustrates what most fans felt about the game they played against the Tennessee Titans. (Photo by Thomas Sabol)It’s going to be a sad, sad week in Pittsburgh. The Steelers just played one of the worst offensive games in its history against one of the worst teams in the NFL and it doesn’t look like things are going to get any better. We all cried and mourned about a weak offense last year but most felt a healthy Ben Roethlisberger would pull it all together and everything would be alright in 2013. Especially with the youngsters gaining more experience on the offensive line. Well it isn’t.Some like me predicted the Steelers would go 10-6 if they beat the Tennessee Titans, this would mean they are beating the teams they are supposes to beat, while splitting with the good teams. Well, if they can’t beat the poor teams, who are they going to beat? So if they don’t get back on track it could 6-10.The offense could not score against an average defense until the final minutes of the fourth quarter after the Titans gave them 2 points at the beginning of the game and handed them the ball. The defense which has been the No. 1 ranked defense in the NFL the past two years, but still receives most of the media criticism, once again was outstanding despite being put in constant poor field position because the offense couldn’t move the ball. For some strange reason the Steelers let go their best back. Jonathan Dwyer led the Steelers last season in rushing and was the only bright spot among the backs during the preseason as he was the top rusher and was a good receiver. But he was released for a bunch of players who really haven’t done anything in the NFL. They looked good during the preseason. But that was preseason. The ground game was none existent. They picked up a whooping 32 yards total. The new offensive line did not impress either and things got worse when the best player on offense, Maurkice Pouncey was injured in the first quarter and missed the rest of the game. He’s out for the season. The line is made up of Pouncey at center, David DeCastro, Marcus Gilbert, Mike Adams and Ramon Foster. But it wasn’t all the line and running backs. Ben overthrew and under threw his wide receivers all day, and the wide receivers could not create any separation for the passing game to have any kind of success. But the good thing about it was that it was only one loss and the three other teams in the division also lost. Baltimore Ravens to the Denver Broncos 49-27, the Cleveland Brown 23-10 to the Miami Dolphins and the Cincinnati Bengals 24-21 to the Chicago Bears. The Steelers face the much improved Bengals Monday night. This is a team that many feel will not only be in the playoffs but will challenge for the AFC championship if they can get out of the tough AFC North. The defense stopped the Titans air attack, and even though they bent against what will probably be the first or second best rushing team in the league this season, they held them to just 16 points which would have been more than enough for most teams to win.
